Blockchain trailblazer Dragon Inc announces sponsorship and support of blind UK veteran’s bid to row the Pacific
Dragon Inc., the company set to bring Blockchain solutions to the gaming industry with their highly anticipated Dragon blockchain platform, has just announced its support for an epic ocean rowing challenge which will see a visually impaired veteran become the first blind person to row the Pacific.
Dragon Coin is a digital currency that is set to transform the gambling industry across the globe. It is officially launching its casino & VIP rooms Blockchain based solution. The Dragon Team are on track to raise over $500million creating the largest ICO to date.
With their very own endeavour proving to be a massive success, Dragon Inc founders Chris Ahmad and Paul Moynan are now throwing their support behind another larger than life challenge that will see two former Royal Marine Commandos, Steve Sparkes and Mick Dawson, take on the “Great Pacific Race”. This 2,400 mile race will see the “Cockleshell Pacific” team row from California to Hawaii in June 2018. While the direct route is 2,400 miles, weather conditions and changing currents could see the duo row closer to 3,000 miles and take them between 50 and 90 days to complete.
Not only will both veterans be taking on the ultimate challenge against mother nature, one half of the team, Steve Sparkes, is visual impaired, demonstrating that there is no limitation to what an applied mind can do. Steve’s blindness is due to a rare form of macular degeneration known as Stargardts. It was caused when, in 1984 while taking part in a selection for the Royal Marines Special Boat Service, he had a diving accident that would ultimately cause the loss of his eyesight. Steve has lost his sight completely apart from some peripheral vision of shapes and colours.
Paul Moynan, Co-Founder of Dragon Inc, says:
“Being a former Royal Marine myself and knowing the sheer super human strengths both physically and mentally these guys have displayed in pervious challenges it comes as no surprise that they are raising the bar again on both a personal level and that of the world stage.
“Royal Marines have never been known to do things in moderation, anything in life worth doing is worth over doing, being highly adaptable, out of the box thinkers with the ability to overcome situations most would run from. Take Steve & Mike as great example of many of our brothers past and present stepping up to push beyond their own circumstance to show others that fear and limitations do not live within our family of service personnel, no matter what challenges we are faced with.”
Dragon’s interest in supporting social initiatives stems deep from the core of their company and personal values, and Dragon Inc. has committed itself to the ongoing support of specific social endeavours, one of those being the support for injured veterans, such as in the team Cockleshell Pacific Endeavour. Dragon’s social responsibility to also support veterans facing challenges PTSD, physical injuries and those making the transition into civilian life.
Paul Moynan adds: “I believe that giving veterans the support they need to realise their own potential and greatness is the duty of everyone of us. We are different; we choose not to be common men, we seek opportunity not security, taking the calculated risk to dream and to build, fail and to succeed, preferring the challenges of life and to face the world boldly. This I have done, I did this, this is my dream.”
With the race starting on the 2nd of June 2018 the team at Dragon plan to follow and support of the guys throughout the race, as well as the other participants who are pushing the limits and showing the world that there is nothing stopping anyone from achieving their dreams.
